What exactly is the Blue Angel for resource and energy-efficient software products?
The Blue Angel for resource and energy-efficient software products is an environmental label awarded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV) to environmentally friendly products and services.
The UZ-215 label, which is relevant for software, was developed by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) in cooperation with the Öko-Institut e.V. and the Umweltcampus Birkenfeld.
An application for the label is made via RAL gGmbH and requires both a formal application including an energy measurement and a review by an auditor.
